DistribuStream is a fully open peercasting system — allowing on-demand or live streaming media to be delivered at a fraction of the normal cost. It was developed by Medioh! and the University of Colorado Computer Science Program.

Status
DistribuStream 0.5.1 is the latest release. It brings with it improvements in the traffic routing algorithm and proper daemonization support.
Roadmap
The following is a list of development goals slated for incorporation into future releases of DistribuStream:
- Improvements to the Transfer Manager
- Move to a UDP version to improve latency and overhead
- Use UTP for peer-to-peer file transfers
- Adding encryption
